Position Overview:Your commitment to safety and product safety are essential success factors. Your education is electrician, with a high degree of mechanical aptitude and desire. Your focus will be on maintaining an extrusion blown film plant. This will require expertise in electrical and control systems as well as a high degree of mechanical aptitude. You will perform the maintenance on all our production equipment as well as building facilities. You will be asked to perform both electrical and mechanical repairs and maintenance within your training and license certifications. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills will result in maximizing uptime, efficiency and output. This is full time position.Essential Job Functions:All safety regulations must be observed. Failure to do so is grounds for termination.Follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies to maintain a safe working environment.Conduct routine inspections of the machinery to ensure all safeties are in place and functional.Ensure that established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ISO regulations and safety standards are strictly followed.Troubleshoot and maintain all process and production equipment as well as general building maintenance.Repair and maintain plant processes, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Design, implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment.Install new equipment according to manufacturer specifications and management requirements.Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.Work directly with engineers, machinists, assemblers, & machine operatorsConduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned.Requirements:Excellent Electrical aptitude including control systems.Excellent mechanical aptitudeFamiliar with electrical aspects and troubleshooting electronics.Ability to read blueprints and assembly instructions provided by manufacturers.Read, write, and understand English.Read interpret instructional electrical, hydraulic, and process systems drawings.Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Prior background in manufacturing maintenance and plastics manufacturing a strong plus.Good troubleshooting skills coupled with a strong work ethic.Knowledge of PLC systems and control systems Self-starter with willingness to perform other related duties as required.Able to work overtime as required.Work Experience:Industrial maintenance or a similar environment performing comparable tasks as required for this position.Education:Red Seal Electrician or Certified Industrial Electrician a mustRed Seal Millwright a plusRegistered qualifications to perform electrical work in British Columbia.Certificate in relevant expertise areas such as mechanical and/or other areas is a plus.
