Your New Role Overview – Manufacturing Lead

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manufacturing Leader with a hardware focus for a new and exciting product and service.

The service requires management of a wide range of technical areas from customer requirements to systems engineering, legal compliance, RF systems design, embedded computing, software, networking, device manufacturing & deployment.

You will be expected to manage a product line through the development phases from requirements definition through deployment, operations and maintenance.

  • Lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary technical team to deliver and deploy integrated physical products
  • Manage requirements gathering, feasibility analysis, project scoping, documentation, resource planning and cost estimating
  • Manage execution of projects, including managing schedules, resources and budgets
  • Manage Setup and execution of internal manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Manage Technical aspects of supply chain management
  • Be the technical team representative to all stakeholders
  • Project proposals, white papers and product architecture definitions
  • Drive corrective actions into designs based on manufacturing and deployment feedback
  • Manage the team’s technical documentation strategy

What You Can Bring?

Essential Experience:

  • Electronic and/or electromechanical product development and managing its deployment, manufacturing and operations
  • Proven track record of building and leading small high-performing teams
  • Experience with radiofrequency-based systems (e.g. user terminals, base stations, IoT devices, SDRs, communication systems etc.)
  • Process management and documentation quality
  • Design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for cost approaches

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with sub-GHz radiofrequency and embedded computing systems
  • Linux/Unix
  • Software-defined radios
  • Networking infrastructure
  • Best practices for installing, maintaining and weatherproofing systems deployed in extreme environments
  • Managing manufacturing and assembly of mass-manufactured products (>1000x units)
  • Monitoring, management and maintenance of remotely deployed devices in the field
  • Solid project management skills, detail-oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles
  • Experience with production automation and tooling
  • Experience analysing large datasets and communicating conclusions

Work Location:

Operating a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. There is flexibility with working hours.

Your usual place of work will be the Cambridge office.

You may occasionally be asked to work from other offices or at a client’s site or offices as the role requires. You may periodically be required to travel for work internationally.

Outlined Salary & Benefits:

Salary: $116,000 - $152,000 negotiable depending on experience
