Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Location : Mirabel, QC

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform aircraft certification and maintenance release in accordance with the requirements of the MPM and CAR 571.
  • Ensure that all spares issued for aircraft maintenance are maintained to the same standards as issued until installed.
  • Ensure that all unserviceable components are properly tagged and returned to quarantine stores.
  • Complete and certify all necessary maintenance forms, log books and paperwork.
  • Report all SDR (Service Difficulty Report) findings.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to discern impending failure modes.
  • Be knowledgeable with all company and government manuals and documents pertaining to their work.
  • Perform any other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft.
  • Ensure that all Aircraft & equipment are maintained and serviced in a timely manner.
  • Carries out assignments of daily aircraft maintenance and overhaul programs.
  • Checks condition of aircraft and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
  • May direct the work of a number of Aircraft Apprentices and Trades Helpers.
  • May be required to fly with aircraft as flight engineer.

Key Competency Requirements:

  • Required to lift weight 50 lbs. (fifty pounds) for component replacements.
  • Ability to operate high lifts, fork-lifts to gain access to aircraft.
  • Ability to work from heights and on ladders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have Transport Canada AME M2 License.
  • Type Rating or experience with B757, B767, B777
  • Required to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP)
  • Ability to use computers – MS Word & Excel.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
