For more information about the Ministry of Environment and Protected Areas, please visit our website at: Role ResponsibilitiesJoin our dynamic team as a Wildlife Technician, where you will play a crucial role in cormorant fieldwork and data collection under the guidance of our Senior Wildlife Biologist. You will be at the forefront of implementing fieldwork assignments, managing data collection, and conducting lab work to support our wildlife program in the northeast. Your responsibilities will include participating in safety planning and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of collected data. With activities ranging from field surveys to sample preparation, you will have the opportunity to contribute to wildlife programs in the northeast while gaining valuable experience in wildlife management. As part of our Wildlife Stewardship team, you will assist in delivering our 2024 cormorant field program. You will be responsible for conducting population inventories, monitoring species distribution, oiling eggs and participating in other wildlife management initiatives in the region. Your role will involve hands-on tasks such as collecting data, managing equipment, and operating various tools and instruments. You will collaborate closely with our team to ensure the effective implementation of program components and contribute to the overall success of both our cormorant program and other wildlife management programs in the region. In addition to fieldwork and research activities, you will play a key role in program administration, supporting data entry, quality control, and logistical coordination.
