Natural Gas Marketer / Trader (Western Canada)

This Natural Gas Trader position will be responsible for trading, scheduling, and optimization of CIMA’s Canadian Natural Gas book.

Responsibilities include:

  • trading strategy and trade execution for the Canada division. Primary focus will be physical gas products, though financial products may also be utilized.
  • and optimizing Division assets and service agreements, including significant production and LNG Feedgas management, transportation, and storage.
  • with scheduling gas flows as required (there is a Lead Scheduler on staff) and working with the Scheduling team to maximize gas flows.
  • with our team and customers to support trading-related activities and inquiries.
  • portfolio and imbalance management.
  • compliance with strategies, risk parameters, corporate policies, and regulations.
  • all materials concerns and developments to the VP and other members of the team.
  • with Credit, Contracts, Accounting, to facilitate and track activity.
  • will include on-call coverage rotation with the Canadian team, which will include scheduling and trading the division assets and service agreements.

Preferred experience/skill required:

  • 1-year Western Canada trading experience, and 5-year combined trading and scheduling experience. Scheduling experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • knowledge of Natural Gas market fundamentals, particularly in Western Canada.
  • knowledge of the Natural Gas transportation and storage grid, particularly in Western Canada.
  • Experience with the NGTL system is a requirement.
  • customer relationships in the Western Canadian market.
  • analytical and computer skills including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint).
