What you’ll do : Promote the regional alignment of the processes, procedures and activities of the formulators of all relevant sites, whether direct or indirect reports. Identify areas for improvement in processes and promote continuous improvement through KPIs and sharing of information and experiences, in addition to providing to the integration of the team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Implement Global Formulation strategy on Regional Level.
  • Provide regional input and guidance as a standing member of the Global ANH Premix Formulation Centre of Excellence.
  • Lead regional projects.
  • Create procedures in line with other departments (quality, production, sales, etc.) in addition to reviewing and approving local and regional procedures in other areas.
  • Implement harmonization and standardization of processes regionally, locally.
  • Align formulation services activities with global and regional business objectives (Essential Products, Performance Solutions, Precision Services, Customer Experience, Premix & Additives Operations).
  • Drive and share best practices regionally, locally.
  • Knowledge sharing of ingredients and formulation constraints.
  • Define and manage regional KPIs to allocate resources ($, FTE, Δt), define priorities and find points for improvement for the department.
  • Develop people, promote the development and learning of each team member, identify potential talents and distribute activities and projects according to the development plan and individual skills.
  • Providing formulation training for new employees of the formulation team.
  • Team management, which involves hiring and firing formulators.
  • Leadership and follow-up on reports of premix records.
  • Responsible for making statistics on formulation data.
  • Develop new premix formulations covering existing and new products as well as new innovative concepts
  • Management of premix formulation process and interpretation of customers’ premix specifications and conversion into production recipes.
  • Responsible for product label maintenance in GLM system, and ensure labels meet customer needs and regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for approval process for third party raw materials for use in premix plants. Technical support for Purchasing/Supply Chain.
  • Provides technical support for Account Managers, Customer Care, Technical Marketing, Innovations, and Commercial Services regarding formulation, labeling, quality and regulatory issues.
  • Represent the regional team in strategic decisions for DSM.
  • Participation in meetings and committees to align areas and communicate results.
  • Support and responsibilities during audits, as well as elaborate and execute action plans resulting from them.
  • Follow the rules of SHE DSM and legislation of each country.

You Bring :

  • Master of Science degree, specializing in Animal Nutrition.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in activities involving project leadership with multidisciplinary teams and strategic planning activities is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in ANH premix formulations or 5 years’ experience in feed formulation and quality control in feed mill environment. Knowledge of the Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and US feed regulations
  • Knowledge of ISO, HAACP and cGMPs
  • Good SAP knowledge
  • Proficiency in English
