Work Arrangements The Department of Geography and the Environment, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, is seeking a contract instructor to teach GEOG 1100: Introduction to Human Geography in the Fall 2024 semester. Applicants will also be considered for addition to our on-call contract faculty teaching list for teaching in future semesters.Workload is assigned each year based on available sections. The Role The successful applicant will teach one section of Geography 1100: Introduction to Human Geography and will be placed on the department’s on-call contract faculty teaching list. Responsibilities You will instruct students, facilitate learning, and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize, and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners, and maintain quality, learner-centered instruction. To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need Completion of at least a Master’s Degree in geography.Successful post-secondary teaching experience in human geography.Demonstration of a strong commitment to students and excellent ability to teach diverse student groups.The ideal candidate will also have expertise in one or more of the following areas: urban geography, environmental sustainability, the regional geography of British Columbia, and/or geographic information systems.
