This role encompasses a wide range of clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic services aimed at maintaining optimal eye health and visual function for our patients.Core Responsibilities: Patient Examination: o Utilize diagnostic tools for eye and vision assessment, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, retinoscopy, and imaging techniques.o Conduct thorough eye exams to assess ocular health and visual function. Diagnosis and Treatment: o Diagnose ocular diseases, visual conditions, and abnormalities.o Prescribe medications, vision therapies, corrective lenses, or refer patients to specialists when necessary. Vision Correction: o Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, providing advice on visual aids that best suit the patient’s lifestyle and visual needs.o Manage follow-up adjustments and patient consultations regarding vision correction options. Disease Management: o Monitor and manage ongoing conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts.o Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries. Emergency Care: o Provide immediate care for acute vision problems and ocular emergencies.o Remove foreign objects, treat infections, and manage ocular injuries as required. Preventive Health Services: o Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and early detection strategies to prevent vision loss.o Conduct screenings for vision-related health issues. Professional Development: o Stay informed on the latest research, technology, and practices in optometry and eye care.o Participate in continuing education and professional association activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
