Your newpany Hays Construction is partnered with a local Ottawa-based ICI GC that is looking to expand their footprint into the Barrie, Ontario area. They offer a very goodpensation and benefits program for all their staff.Your new role As the Estimator, your job will be to research and bid on public projects, contribute to bidding and tendering strategies as well as invite bids and follow up with subcontractors and suppliers. You will also perform quantity surveys and obtain and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.You also participate in costing studies (classes D to A) for preliminary projects and proposals.In this role, you can either be based in Ottawa and work on Ottawa/Barrie-based projects and sometimes participate in Quebec-based projects, or you can be remotely located in the GTA and focus solely on Ontario.What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this intermediate level role, you will have at least 5 years of experience as an Estimator in an ICI environment. You should have post-secondary education in Construction Management or Engineering and be an efficient personality that works well under pressure. You must be very organized and be looking to grow your career in a growingpany. Ideally, you are well versed and have strong relationships with trades in the Barrie area. Bilingualism is required if you are based in Ottawa, unilingual will be considered if you are in Toronto. Full-time remote work is possible.
