TITLE: SENIOR STRATEGIST

REPORTING TO: SUPERVISOR OR ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Strategist is responsible for providing strategic insight across all media into a client’s business in order to develop the most creative and cost effective and efficient media communication plan.

He/she is also responsible for building and maintaining the client relationship and internal relationships with account group and buyers.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

▪ Train and mentor juniors and manage their day-to-day workload

▪ Develop strategic media POV’s and hone your writing skills

▪ Develop creative media plans according to strategy, considering all potential media vehicles (Digital, Search, social, broadcast, print, OOO, etc.)

▪ Present media plans to client

▪ Ensure execution of plans

▪ Assume ownership of plan revisions due to budget or strategic changes

▪ Build solid relationship with buyers and account groups

▪ Assist Strategy Supervisor on client deliverables

▪ Liaise directly with clients

▪ Negotiate media rates with suppliers

▪ Use of OMD Design in strategy planning

▪ Broaden knowledge and understanding of partner agency disciplines

▪ Utilize all available (industry) media measurement tools

▪ Sound understanding of Media Research Tools (Omni)

▪ Participation in all relevant corporate training

DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING

▪ Gain further insight into client’s business (sales, economical, competitive)

▪ Understanding of markets/media/buying conditions

▪ Continual mentoring of juniors

▪ Delegating skills

▪ Solidify strategic skills

▪ Solidify negotiating skills

▪ Solidify business writing skills

▪ Refine presentations skills

▪ Attend industry media functions as an ambassador of OMD

▪ Volunteer for agency/department projects that interests you.
