Do you come from an Operations Management, Engineering, or Supply Chain background with supervisory experience leading a successful team of packaging operators? We are looking for a Packaging Supervisor who will be responsible for handling day to day work activities on the plant floor, ensuring the daily manufacturing schedule in a complex work environment is attained. This Burnaby based position oversees the overnight shift packaging operations with a team of about 20 members.

In this role you will :

  • Work Sunday to Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30pm
  • Supervise, direct, prioritize, and coordinate all activities related to the Packaging department, to maintain quality and maximize productivity while minimizing cost
  • Support the team’s success to ensure the staff are properly trained, motivated and performing to the required standard, and provide recognition and feedbacks as required.
  • Take the initiative to implement process changes, providing a positive environment to ensure continuous improvement is embraced by all staff
  • Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Ensure quality product is being produced, while maintaining a high level of integrity to ensure all staff are being treated on a fair and consistent basis

You have :

  • Experience in a leadership position where you can support, coach and mentor your team, build engagement and morale (increasing performance) while driving change and implementing best practice
  • Worked in a collaborative team-based environment that utilizes your excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying the opportunity for continuous improvement projects, and take the initiative to lead them to completion
  • Mechanical experience: safely operating and setting up machines while using a diverse selection of hand tools
  • Intermediate computer skills required for Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
