Make an Impact on Seniors Health!Job Responsibilities/dutiesØ Working in group homes with individuals with developmental disabilities such as Spinal Cord Injury, Dementia and Down SyndromeØ Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as feeding, lifts and transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene and toiletingØ Perform delegated tasks for duties such as catheter care, suppositories, non-sterile dressings and mobilization routines for complex care clientsØ Administer medication to clients and provide medication reminders, in accordance to established policyØ Plans, prepares and serves meals and shops for groceriesØ Observes clients and their environments and report unsafe conditions and behavioral and physical changesØ Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as communication books and progress notesØ Performs other related duties as assignedWage: Starting at $22.51QualificationsØ Grade 12 completionØ Health Care Aide/Residential Care Aide certificateØ Registration with BC Care Aide AssociationØ Class 5 BC Driver’s license and access to a vehicle (Preferred)(Class 4 Driver’s license is an asset)Ø Up to date immunization record including a current TB test within 1 year.Ø A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 daysØ Current Standard First Aid & Level C CPRØ Able to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent organizational skills to manage your schedule.Ø Compassionate, respectful, and sincere manner, with ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills.Ø This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.Knowledge & abilitiesØ Home Management skillsØ Flexible working hours – able to work overnight, evening and weekendsØ Physical ability to carry out the duties of the positionØ Ability to operate related equipmentØ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingØ Ability to organize and prioritizeØ Experience with quadriplegics and behavioral conditions such as Dementia & Autism would be an asset At SE, we love what we do.
