The Manager of Finance position may be the next step in your career.JOB OVERVIEW:This position assumes responsibility for overseeing the full-cycle finances of Bethesda, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and providing reliable, accurate and professional information to our stakeholders. It is ideal for an experienced accountant with a CPA designation and working knowledge of finance and not-for-profits.RESPONSIBILITIES:Complete full-cycle accounting procedures with revenues over $30 million.Complete reconciliations for banking records and government funding contracts.Apply CRA’s rules and regulations for registered charities.Prepare and submit reports for external agencies.Assist with government funding and requests for services.Assist with preparing budgets and financial statements.Ensure deposits are processed and donation receipts issued.Ensure approved purchases are made and processed.Prepare income tax returns.Supervision of administrative assistant staff.Assist with other finance tasks as required.JOB REQUIREMENTS:A heart to support the mission of Bethesda to people with diverse abA CPA designation preferred; CPA students maybe considered.Working knowledge of Accounting Standards for Not-For-Profit Organizations.Experience with not-for-profit sector or registered charities.Proficient with full cycle bookkeeping, knowledge and skills.Strong interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills with a high level of personal integrity, initiative and maturity.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others.Excellent communication and assessment skills.Strong organizational and time management skills.Proficient computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Office, QuickBooks, Donor Perfect and Adobe preferred.Possession of Canadian, landed immigrant or legal working status.Standard requirements (criminal record check, medical clearance, ICBC driving record).Personal values in line with Bethesda’s philosophy of Christian service and support for people with diverse abilities.Full COVID-19 immunization.COMPENSATION & BENEFITSHiring bonus: $100 at time of hire, another $200 after 1 year of continuous employment and completion of all job requirements.Competitive salary: $85,072 – $93,184.Excellent extended benefits package including participation in the Municipal Pension Plan.3 weeks vacation to start.Ongoing training, leadership and professional developmentFull CPA dues reimbursement.Hybrid work arrangements may be considered.JOB CONTEXT:We are welcoming applicants who desire to be part of a team that values communication, trust and healthy working relationships.
