Pharmacy Coordinator

Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the pharmacy coordinator to provide excellent customer service to patients and interacts with Patient Assistant Programs and internal and external stakeholders. Pharmacy coordinators perform administrative and organizational tasks in a pharmaceutical setting.

Location - 7313 Meadow Ave Burnaby, BC V5J 4Z2

Hours of work - Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:40pm

Pay rate - $18.00 to $20.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain patient records in pharmacy software including filing and documenting appropriately according to P&Ps, all activities using required paperwork (logs)
  • Managing pharmacy records such as site calendars, appointment changes, dispensing and shipping schedules.
  • Accurately confirming delivery address with specialty programs and patients to ensure arrival at the appropriate destination on time.
  • Patient follow-up calls for outstanding accounts.
  • Assist the pharmacist/registered pharmacy technician in maintaining federal, provincial, and local laws, accrediting body standards, and Policies and Procedures (P&Ps).
  • Faxing doctors for refills.
  • Escalates situations as required to the appropriate pharmacy team member
  • Effectively communicate with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with health care professionals, reimbursement coordinators and infusion clinics.
  • Accurate data entry into various systems.
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned.

Job Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS

  • With a high school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Typically requires 3+ years of customer service experience.
  • Organized and disciplined; strong computer skills.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Use the computer and other equipment and reach with hands and arms.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, colour vision, night vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
