Civil Engineering Manager - Kingston area

One of our top partners in the Electric Vehicle space is preparing to build a facility that will be a crucial part of Canada’s Electric Vehicle (EV) supply chain in Kingston area. Our client is looking for a Civil Engineering Manager who will be responsible for managing and leading Civil engineering teams to establish standards and systems for their discipline and to support the installation and commissioning of new assets and facilities. Responsibilities - Manage work plans by setting targets, providing feedbacks and managing improvement plans. - Partner with Global Engineering organization for established standard designs and strategies for engineering execution. - Guarantee the execution of work within agreed project scope, planning and budget. - Ensure the project documents are complete and assuring project timelines are being met. - Coordinate support requirements with Project Managers to delegate work between Project Engineers and Civil Engineers for major scope blocks. - Oversee the contractors to guarantee safe execution, quality of workmanship, and timelines being respected. - Detect roadblocks and take corrective action to overcome them. - Perform or support commissioning of the equipment before handing over to the process team. Qualifications - Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification. - Minimum 10 years of experience in in progressive engineering leadership and at least 5 years in Automotive, Material, Mining or a regulated industry. - Experience working in similar role and good understanding of industrial installations in large scale engineering projects. - Knowledge of EHS Standards and industry best practices and legal requirements applicable to Engineering disciplines. - Knowledge of interactions between all project trades (Project management, construction management, electrical, piping, process, etc.). - Strong communication and problem-solving skills. - Exemplary behavior towards ethics and integrity and ability to build strong relationships. - Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
