Opex Procurement Manager - Kingston area

One of our top partners in the Electric Vehicle space is preparing to build a facility that will be a crucial part of Canada’s Electric Vehicle (EV) supply chain in Kingston area. Our client is looking for an Opex Procurement Manager who will be heading the procurement center leading the opex procurement team and indirect materials warehouse team. Responsibilities - Manage and optimize the day-to-day opex procurement and indirect materials warehouse activities. - Define short, mid-term and long term strategy for achieving the procurement center goals. - Understand business needs to develop and implement initiatives for category sourcing, spot-buys, supplier management, order administration, invoice error handling.. - Facilitate communication with different procurement entities to enhance operational efficiency. - Support Opex Procurement Director in defining cost center budget. - Identify and develop innovative sources, contractual arrangements and establish the targets in alignment with internal departments. - Drive improvement in procurement operations through user compliance, contracts, and customer satisfaction. - Establish spend baselines and category profiles and regular risk assessment. - Introduce and maintain a safe working environment in indirect materials warehouse. - Prepare and support the introduction of SAP Ariba in the organization. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics - 5 to 7 years of experience working in procurement, logistics, and/or business - Knowledge of basic HR and basic accounting is a plus - Proven ability to negotiate, create and review contracts - Strong communication and problem-solving skills - Exemplary behaviour towards ethics and integrity - Self starter with strong leadership and people management skills.
