Accountability, integrity, quality of work and interactions, openness, and teamwork define who we are at IBC, and we attribute our success to the strength of these values.Position TitlePurchaserPosition SummaryThe Purchaser will support the day-to-day operation of the procurement and purchasing function.Location: Burnaby, BCSchedule: Monday to FridayReporting to: VP of Operations and R & DEssential FunctionsPurchase for manufacturing components and materials based on inventory level, target, and demand.Continuously source and price components globally.Coordinate with customs and freight forwarders to ensure on-time in full shipping and reasonable pricing.Collaborate with the IBC warehouse team to reconcile inbound/outbound deliveries.Assist in the MRP evaluation process and monitor inventory level.Collaborate with manufacturing quality and suppliers to improve material and component quality.Coordinate with AP to reconcile supplier invoices.Collaborate with the Rheem global sourcing community to introduce best practices and new secondary suppliers.Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-time in full delivery, product availability, and quality standards are met.Coordinate with custom brokers to prepare documentation required for port clearance.Create POs and track them through the in-transit process.Performs other duties as reasonably assigned.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Science, or a related field is required, preferably with a concentration in Supply Chain Management.Possessing SCMP designation is an asset.Possessing CPIM and CSCP certifications is an asset.Work Experience:3+ years of experience working as a purchasing clerk or procurement specialist is required.Previous experience sourcing and buying for a manufacturing environment.Previous experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.Previous experience working with MRP-driven ERP. Experience with SAP or Oracle is an asset.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Ability to administer all aspects of the purchasing process.Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends.Ability to provide solutions to issues identified in data trends.Ability to work with a great amount of detail and audit against errors.Ability to plan and organize projects and tasks to meet deadlines.Working knowledge of process mapping and flowcharts and possess a process-driven mindset.Ability to develop and maintain rapport with stakeholders of all levels.Intermediate working knowledge of excel, specifically Pivot Table and VLookUp.Ability to communicate concisely and clearly through both written and verbal means.
