Maintenance Manager

Here's what you'd do:

  • Direct mechanic/electrical team, Maintenance Supervisors, administrator and purchaser
  • Ensure implementation of Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Formulate CERs (Capital Expenditure Requests) for the electronic approval process.
  • Manage, design & implement capital projects.
  • Bring forth new ideas to improve existing production processes.
  • Propose energy conservation ideas.
  • Ensure yearly code inspection certificates are acquired (Elec. permit, Boiler inspections, Fire Alarm Inspection).
  • Monitor and report on mechanical/electrical downtime.
  • Ensure system for timely completion of Maintenance Repairs and Minor Production Improvements.
  • Led the environmental committee and implemented the Manufacturing Excellence chapter.
  • An active member of the site leadership team.
  • Coordinate contractor activities as needed.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the maintenance department.
  • Monitor and report on budget status.
  • Competence in PLC for troubleshooting and programming change would be an asset.
  • Proven track record of compliance and continuous improvement in improving safety in the workplace.
  • The food, beverage, or packaged goods industry is a definite asset.

Here's what you'll get:

  • Pay $100K/Yr. to $120K/Yr.
  • Hours: 8/40 Hrs./Wk.
  • Length: Direct Placement.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a maintenance supervisor or manager.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with food processing, CFIA, HACCP, Continuous Improvement Process, and Six Sigma would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in operational budgets.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Automated, fast-paced manufacturing facility.
  • Sound knowledge of OHSA.
  • Ability to train Direct Reports.
  • Excellent knowledge of troubleshooting, adjusting, or repairing of equipment.
  • Working knowledge of work orders and preventative maintenance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as project management skills.
  • Ability to develop and foster a results-driven team.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
