Description :This course, which is part of the Bundle of Advocacy Courses, consists of the introduction and demonstration of trial advocacy techniques. Students will learn best practices for developing theory and theme, direct and cross-examinations, examination of experts, as well as opening and closing statements. A key theme of the course is the acquisition of skills in a “learning by doing” environment. An LL.B., J.D., or equivalent is required for this position. Membership in the Law Society of Ontario in good standing is also required. The successful candidate will have significant experience in written and oral advocacy. This candidate will further be up-to-date on advocacy techniques. Prior teaching experience will be considered an asset. The Common Law Section reserves the right to select a candidate who does not fully meet each of these requirements, where the candidate’s selection would be beneficial to the program, the course, the students or for a related reason. Additional Information and/or Comments:This posting is for a co-taught course.An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
