Class 3 Driver

We have an exciting opportunity at our Amherst location as a Class 3 Driver.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers' hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
  • Maintain accurate and complete records associated with the dispatch of vehicles
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
  • Plan logistics of the trip, and obtain appropriate paperwork to transport goods, materials, or passengers
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections on vehicle and load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness
  • Maintain contact with dispatcher in accordance with travel plan
  • Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, and hours of service, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
  • Prepare appropriate paperwork for shipping, including bills of lading, & customer packing slips
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
  • Provide feedback to management regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
  • Load own truck and oversee cargo handling and secure all loads in accordance with established safety requirements
  • Clean and make minor repairs to vehicle to maintain appropriate service levels

Position Requirements :

  • The position will require you to drive either a cube truck 3-ton flatbed truck or a 10-ton flatbed pipe truck as needed.

  • Valid Class 3 driver's license with Air Brake Endorsement with minimum two years' relevant driving experience :

  • The position is 5 days a week some overtime required. Some overnight stays might be required.

  • Start time needs to be flexible but as early as 3:30 AM departures

  • Should have the ability to lift up to 60 lbs,

  • Experience with loading, strapping and operating a flat deck truck and use of a Moffett(fork lift) an asset, but training will be provided

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Experience :

  • driving: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class 3 Licence with Airbrake endorsment (required)
