Not only can you manage people processes in your sleep, you will be working, shoulder to shoulder with your team, and are exceptional at communicating progress, challenges, and opportunities to your team and to anyone who needs to understand them.

Managing an diverse operation requires a unique individual with a unique skillset, who understands its intricacies and brings the best part of themselves each day. Here’s a few of the finer points you bring to the table:

A minimum of a degree in Human Resources/Industrial Relations/Business Administration . CPHR designation an asset
Total Work Experience: More than 4 years related role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position
Proven working experience as HR manager or other HR executive with in-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws and regulations
Humility – Everyone makes mistakes, nobody can know everything, and there is always the possibility that things can be done better. This is the attitude that the leadership team intentionally brings to work each day, and a quality that the successful candidate for this role will possess, without question!

Here is what an average week will look like for you:
25% of your time will be spent on employee relations and communication , this includes;
Handling employee inquiries and concerns
Conducting meetings with employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and career development
Managing employee feedback and suggestions
20% of your time will be spent on recruitment and onboarding ;
Advertising open positions
Reviewing resumes and conducting interviews
Onboarding new hires and conducting orientation sessions
20% of your time will be spent on HR administration and compliance ;
Managing employee records and HR databases
Ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations
Processing payroll and benefits administration
15% of your time will be spent on training and development ;
Identifying and organizing training sessions (food safety training, customer service training)
Managing employee performance evaluations and feedback
Creating career development plans
10% of your time will be spent on performance management ;
Implementing performance management systems
Conducting performance reviews and providing feedback to employees
Developing strategies for employee performance improvement
5% of your time will be spent on strategic planning and policy development ;
Developing HR policies and procedures
Participating on strategic planning meetings
Analyzing HR metrics and proposing improvements
5% of your time will be spent on other tasks ;
Handling special projects or initiatives
Attending meetings with senior management or external partners
Addressing any urgent HR issues or emergencies
Bonus points
Experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, food and manufacturing industry or a similar industry in a related field, will give you a leg up!
