Position Summary: The Senior Shipper/Receiver plays a pivotal role in the efficient operation of the supply chain by managing product handling, shipment, and documentation processes. With a focus on precision and adherence to quality standards, this position ensures the timely and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. In addition to executing operational tasks with excellence, the Senior Shipper/Receiver provides mentorship to departmental staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and promoting high performance. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks effectively. Key Responsibilities: Accept incoming products, and carefully inspect, count, and document arrivals to ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance. Oversee accurate recording and integration of received products into systems, maintaining data integrity. Identify, label, and pack products according to established procedures and quality standards to ensure product integrity and safety. Efficiently manage the placement of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies, storing or redirecting them as needed. Issue and transfer supplies, finished goods, and raw materials as requested, maintaining a smooth workflow. Safely operate forklift and reach truck equipment to handle materials with precision and caution. Prepare shipping and customs documentation accurately to facilitate seamless transactions. Package, label, and ship products, coordinating with carriers to resolve transportation issues promptly. Route paperwork to relevant departments efficiently to support workflow. Maintain meticulous records, updating information promptly to facilitate informed decision-making. Identify and address shortages and damaged goods, maintaining product quality and integrity. Execute order-picking tasks efficiently and wrap skids securely for transport. Manage inventory levels of packaging and supplies, initiating replenishment as needed. Mentor and train departmental staff to ensure proficiency and competence. Contribute to developing and managing up-to-date procedures for departmental operations. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support organizational success and growth. What You Bring to Ampco: Minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in shipping and receiving, order picking, completing bills of lading, and collaborating with major carriers such as FedEx, UPS, and DHL. Demonstrated reliability with exceptional organizational skills and acute attention to detail. Proficiency in international shipping documentation and procedures. Strong data entry skills with proficiency in computer operations and Microsoft Office suite. Hands-on experience with ERP systems, with preference given to those with experience in Syteline. Ability to thrive under pressure, managing workflow demands and competing priorities effectively. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs safely. Possession of a valid license for both standard and high-reach lift trucks/forklifts (training can be provided). Completion of Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification (training can be provided). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated patience and composure under pressure. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adept at prioritizing tasks.
