Maintenance Supervisor

Our leading mining client is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. The selected candidate will oversee and guide the maintenance team in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance solutions for our assets. Responsibilities include providing direction to tradespeople, prioritizing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe workplace, and managing resources effectively.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and lead maintenance crews in managing mobile plant and equipment on site, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
Optimize resource allocations to meet planned and unplanned maintenance requirements.
Identify and address hazards and risks through regular inspections and audits, maintaining compliance with HSE standards.
Mentor and develop team members, setting clear expectations and providing constructive feedback.
Enforce performance standards and disciplinary procedures as necessary.
Monitor down day activities for quality and compliance.
Review mechanical repairs and services to ensure adherence to maintenance standards.
Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Oversee the development and implementation of maintenance-related procedures.
Ensure timely removal of unsafe equipment from service.
Identify and address training needs within the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Proficiency in mobile plant maintenance processes.
Basic knowledge of various trades and equipment.
Strong leadership and performance management abilities.
Flexibility in scheduling and task management.
Understanding of contract management and relevant safety/environmental legislation.
Experience in leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and follow-up.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate with leadership to achieve project goals.
Excellent planning and organizational abilities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
5+ years of experience in mining or heavy industrial construction.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership or planning role.
Proficiency in JDE or equivalent ERP system preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
Strong communication skills.
Fluency in English.
Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Journeyman ticket with relevant industry experience.
Additional training in team management and leadership preferred.
