Vice President/Production Underwriter

Description Our client is seeking an E+O expert to join their MGA as Vice President! This position can be remote (although preference is given to those in the lower mainland area) or if you wish to be in an office setting, you can work from their lovely office in Burnaby. Our client could even accommodate a reduced schedule for that added touch for work life balance! As a Vice President, you will drive the growth and profitability. You will have strong BC broker relationships which you will leverage to build your book. In this role, your focus is attracting and underwriting new business opportunities while being having support from your team. RESPONSIBILITIES - Risk analysis: quoting, negotiating and authorizing the acceptance of risk with a focus on new business production - Participate in underwriting meetings, formal/informal presentations and broker meetings - Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external parties, including attending industry related seminars and networking events as necessary - Negotiate coverage and price with brokers within established guidelines and delegated authority parameters - Communicate decisions and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner - Manage, strengthen and grow a book of profitable business - Keep accurate records of decisions made and maintain completeness of policy dataIdeally you have:- A minimum of 8+ years of E+O experience;- An entrepreneurial attitude and aptitude for selling and negotiation- Demonstrated ability to generate revenue growth - A strong focus for customer service - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong organizational and decision making skills - A broker licence or ability to obtain one DGA Careers has been proudly serving the Canadian insurance industry for over 30 years, specializing in providing insurance recruiting services to major insurers, insurance brokerage firms and independent adjusting firms.
