As the Senior Engineer, Materials, you will develop company standards and specifications and provide project and field support to operations and project teams , ensuring compliance to applicable codes and standards.We offer opportunities for career development, growing your knowledge and skills, and an exciting career with competitive benefits and pension package including generous time off.Apply today to this excellent opportunity on our diverse team! #joinourteamWhat You Will Do:Develop and update company standards, specifications and practices related to steel pipe and components, and welding to ensure compliance with current industry standards and regulations.Develop and maintain company welding procedures to ensure compliance with CSA Z662, ASME B&PV sec IX, and best practices.Review and approve third-party welding procedures for compliance with CSA Z662 and ASME B&PV sec IX.Support field welding operations through procedure selection, troubleshooting, and in-service welding assessments including weld modeling.Provide technical support for polyethylene pipe and material, as well as conventional heat and electrofusion joining as assigned through the development, maintenance and approval of standards, procedures, and practices, to satisfy code requirements such as ASTM F2620, ASTM F1290 and CSA B137.4, along with provision of operational technical support.Support procurement processes by reviewing material test reports and technical exception requests from vendors to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and best practices.Provide materials and welding engineering and non-destructive examination support to pipeline and equipment integrity programs, capital and projects of all sizes, and company initiatives in business development and operational excellence.Support the assessment of new materials and products of interest to the company.Coordinate failure analysis testing when needed. Who You Are:Engineering degree preferably in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering with six or more years of directly related experienceMust possess or be eligible to obtain P.Eng. designation in Ontario.Demonstrated strong technical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.Demonstrated strong communication skills (verbal and written).Demonstrated strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. An ability to build and maintain a good working relationship with the client groups is critical to this role.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and working knowledge of MS project, GIS, and Maximo.Ability to think analytically and perform detailed analysis.Ability to coordinate multiple projects at one time and meet defined timelines.Must be able to perform independently.Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license. The following would be preferred:Experience conducting root cause analysis and project management.Experience with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (i.e., CSA Z662, CSA B137.4, ASME B&PV sec IX, ASTM F2620, ASTM F1290, O.Reg. 210/01, etc.) FlexworkEnbridge provides competitive workplace programs that differentiate us and offer flexibility to our team members.
