This role has oversight over human resources, recruitment, training, safety and payroll. Key Responsibilities:Assist the CPCO to ensure People and Culture initiatives, programs and processes are aligned with overall corporate strategy, purpose, mission, and core valuesLead and mentor the P&C department managers to support their success and career aspirations. Support, coach and mentor the P&C managers within the following key areas:Key metrics to support the impact of P&C in the organisationPayroll and benefitsEmployee engagement and retentionRecruitment and workforce planningHealth, safety and prevention initiatives Compensation and total rewardsManagement and leadership development programs and general trainingDiversity, equity and inclusion initiativesOversee compliance updates to payroll, health and safety programs, employee policies and procedures, employment agreements, and other HR forms and documentsParticipate in collective agreement negotiations and other union meetingsEnhance and improve existing employee rewards and recognition programs to reinforce the company core values and the fostering of a positive and inclusive work cultureChampion and lead the succession planning and performance management programs within the senior management teamEstablish strong internal partnerships and collaborate with team members throughout all areas within the organization Assist the CPCO in the planning and oversight of the P&C department budget and strategic planningPerform other duties as requiredQualifications:Undergraduate degree in business or human resources preferred (other business major’s acceptable) or equivalent5 to 7+ years experience at a Senior Manager and/or Director level leading multiple functional areasHands on experience of managing and mentoring high performing managers in a complex environmentExperience in labour relations is a strong assetCPHR Designation is preferredAcceptable security and criminal record checkWhy Join BEST:Hybrid work scheduleRRSP contributionBonus Pay ProgramPaid health and benefitsVision careEmployee Assistance ProgramProfessional development fundsMonthly social activitiesBEST is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
