About the Opportunity : Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre (CRHCC) is seeking two 0.7 FTE Obstetrician Gynecologists to join their team. This beautiful close-knit department with excellent GP newborn coverage delivers 250 babies a year and boasts great access to OR time and collegial surgical colleagues. Call is 1:3. Shared office space available right on the unit, and the obstetrical clinic is supported by a full time RN that coordinates shared care with an active GP obstetrical team.

Responsibilities :

  • Full scope of practice as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist providing care to patients at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Amherst
  • Provide coverage for low to medium risk obstetrics, in collaboration with Obstetrics-gynecology colleagues and the GP-Obstetrical team.
  • Emergency and elective consult service for the full spectrum of gynecological care.
  • Participating in call and able to respond to urgent matters within 20 minutes of being called
  • Responsible to the Zone Department Head for Obstetrics & Gynecologist for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • Work cohesively with Primary Care Obstetrics Physicians
  • On-call participation

Expected Hours :

  • 0.7 FTE
  • 1:3 call

Qualifications :

  • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia(CPSNS)
  • All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada(RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association(CMPA)
