Discover how we combine endless opportunities, innovation, and rewards to create a truly unique career experience. _ We are actively looking for a Full Time Security Specialist who will be based in our Vancouver Hub Facility near YVR (Richmond BC). Location: 5960 Ferguson Road, Richmond BC Shift: Monday to Friday (Full Time hours - shifts will vary) This is a full-time entry-level specialist position that will require occasional travel to regularly visit our facilities and operations in the Lower Mainland and in BC. Although the work consists of a regular Monday to Friday shift, the nature of the position will require flexibility to work during any calendar day and in different hours of the day. _ Job Summary: The Security Specialist ensures implementation of security processes and procedures at all assigned UPS facilities. This position addresses potential asset and process risks, audits UPS facilities' physical security, and addresses employee security issues. This will include initiating and assisting in various security investigations. Shifts may vary depending on type of assignment. Travel will be required to visit and audit different UPS locations across BC and, in some cases, in other provinces. The Security Specialist also monitors claim and damage information to identify trending risks and respond appropriately. _ Job Duties Analyzes Packages Claims - Reviews paid claims date to identify accounts that need attention; Review reports to identify trends in asset loss and investigate to mitigate and resolve the issues; Reviews Asset Loss Risks - Examines open-package information to determine relational data with sort operations staff; Conducts physical audits of potential high-risk areas in the facilities for possible routes of asset loss; Inspects delivery center facilities and property to check for unsecured access areas; Coordinates with Law Enforcement - Conduct investigations and interviews; Acts as a liaison with law enforcement authorities; Conducts Service Provider Audits - Examines delivery and route reports to determine if service providers are following proper procedures; _ All Candidates are required to have the following Abilities, Skills and Knowledge: Ability to follow set and standard procedures; Must possess a valid Driver’s License (Class 5 is mandatory); Able to work with spreadsheets and various data-tables for report creation and data audits; Strong observation and judgement skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Previous commercial asset protection, law enforcement or military experience is an advantage; Comfortable in and able to remain calm in high-pressure situations; and, Must be Bondable. _ What we offer: UPS offers a competitive compensation package which includes benefit options including health and dental coverage, group insurance plan, paid vacation, employee stock purchase plan and an unlimited opportunity to grow within the company.
