About Us

Dutch Canuck Landscaping is an established company whose passion is creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces that extend your living space outside. We operate out of a yard located in the neighbourhood of Aldershot, in Burlington ON. We primarily provide landscape maintenance services for residential and commercial properties. Currently, we are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about plant material and can lead garden maintenance operations as well as assist with lawn mowing duties. There may be the opportunity to be a part of our snow clearing/ winter operations as well.

Grounds Maintenance Foreperson - $25- $28/hour.

Our Fore people are an integral role in the success of our company, who keep the crew on task, on time and at an acceptable standard of workmanship. A good Fore Person keeps his/her crew members engaged and feeling valued. Safe practices and diligent record keeping is paramount to the success of daily operations and team member accountability.

Qualifications :

• Horticultural background/ Horticulture diploma program an asset
• Must be well versed in lawn maintenance operations
• Knowledge of many different types of turf care equipment (zero turn, trimmers, etc.)
• Valid G license
• Have a positive attitude, be dependable and value team work
• Collaborative and engaging
• Respectful (to others, of policies, with equipment)
• Confident and fast learner - willing to continually improve

Forepersons Responsibilities :

• Drive company vehicles with or without a trailer attached.
• Lead a crew of 2-3 individuals with respect and accountability.
• Track employee hours using time keeping software
• Track tasks and time using time keeping software
• Operate lawn mowing equipment and other related power equipment
• Report all equipment damages/ failures to owner
• Give direction and lead gardening operations
• Perform pruning of ornamental trees and trimming of shrubs
• Work in a team to perform Spring and Fall clean-ups
• Demonstrate and promote best and safest practices to crew members
• Follow through proactively whenever exceptions to the established best practices occur
• Monitor weather forecasts and weather patterns as they happen in the field to determine execution of schedule

You will be working on private, residential properties as well as residential, condominium properties. We are a full-service property maintenance company that maintain high standard service to all aspects of the landscape. Our clients care deeply about their properties and will show an interest in the care that is being given to their properties. You need to have a passion for Horticulture and the outdoors. Expect to engage with the homeowners about their properties.
