We’re looking for a talented Quality Assurance Technician to help us deliver our mission and have a big impact in this high growth industry. As part of our Quality & Compliance Team, you will help ensure our super premium organic cannabis consistently exceeds the expectations of our customers, cementing our place as one of the strongest cannabis companies in the world. Quality is our obsession, and our Quality Assurance Technicians are the champions of that obsession in day-to-day operations.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning and developing their career in Cannabis Quality Assurance while supporting a diverse and dynamic company.

Purpose of the Quality Technician role :

  • Support the maintenance and improvement of our Quality Management System.
  • Ensure the quality, safety, and complete traceability of batches of cannabis and cannabis products.
  • Provide ground-level analysis of potential risks to product quality and safety and provide recommendations to reduce or eliminate risk.
  • Defend product quality and safety at every step of the production process to ensure we deliver on our quality goals.

Responsibilities :

  • Review and verify daily records filled by operation staff, ensuring all corrections are made in a timely and organized manner.
  • Compile comprehensive batch records, ensuring all required processes, tests, and assessments have been completed on time and are within specification.
  • Maintain high quality documentation in accordance with applicable guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct Quality Control in the absence of Quality Control Technicians through completion of product checks, packaging checks, and sanitation verification.
  • Perform inspections of all areas of the facility, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assess materials and equipment for suitability prior to purchasing.
  • Assist in performing receiving of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and packaging components.
  • Assist in training or re-training production staff.
  • Assist in conducting continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist in investigating consumer complaints, deviations, and out-of-specification test results.
  • Assist in preparing of documentation for regulatory audits.
  • Assist in creating and updating Controlled Documents
  • Assist in investigating out-of-specification test results.
  • Assist in inventory counts.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Requirements :

  • A Bachelor of Science, a certificate in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, or other equivalent education is considered an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a quality position within the cannabis, food, pharmaceutical, natural health products, or nutraceutical industries. Combinations of other experience and education will be considered.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail through document or data review.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment, while either on your feet or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties and cross train.
  • Ability to complete work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in any of the following areas is considered an asset: document review, data review, Quality Management Systems (QMS), quality inspections, quality control, technical writing, analytical testing, Cannabis Act & Regulations, cannabis quality assessment, complaint management, corrective and preventative action, HACCP, risk assessment.
  • The role is permanent, full-time, daytime, based in Delta, with options for limited hybrid work after onboarding. Must have flexibility to occasionally work variable shifts as early as 7:00 am and as late as 12:00 am when covering for other Quality personnel.
