Sales professionals strive to meet their monthly sales targets by following a daily work plan that focuses their attention on sales-generating activity and providing excellent customer service from initial contact to final delivery. The primary function of an Automotive Sales Representative is to make customers feel welcome and supported throughout the car-purchasing process; ensuring the customer is satisfied and will continue to use the dealership for their future maintenance and car buying needs.RESPONSIBILITESGreet and assist customers entering the showroom floor, presenting a professional environment that supports automotive sales while ensuring customer satisfactionAnswer questions about new cars, used cars, vehicle performance, applications processes and financing for the clientele acting as a ‘subject matter expert’Employ strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport when assisting potential customers with their vehicle selection and finalizing their payment termsMaintain an up-to-date customer database to drive current and future automotive sales for the dealershipPresent used and new cars through test drives, demonstrations, and dealership walk-throughsLeverage negotiation skills without compromising customer satisfaction to carry out the sales process following dealership standards and policiesSend emails and make calls to prospective buyers in an effort to ensure that your daily calendar has the necessary amount of customer appointments to guarantee that productivity goals are being metFollow up with previously sold clients to earn repeat and referral business while maintaining the highest customer satisfaction standards possible, striving for perfection with each transactionStay current on required dealer group and manufacturer trainingOther duties as assigned by store leadershipQUALIFICATIONSMust be 18 years of age or older to meet insurance requirements for operating a motor vehiclePossession of authorized documentation required to gain employment, in addition to having a current, valid CA-issued Driver’s LicenseMust submit to and adequately pass a pre-employment background and MVR screen prior to employmentOpen availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays knowing that employees are required to stay until the customer’s purchase is complete and their satisfaction ensuredHigh school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role required with experience in retail, sales, marketing, and customer service being preferredAbility to meet the physical demands of the position, which includes: standing, sitting, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, etc.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to construct emails and messages in a professional and inviting mannerHas the competitive spirit, drive, outgoing personality, consistency, and resilience to meet monthly sales objectives while following a daily work planCOMPENSATIONPAID TRAINING for your first 3 months – Earn while you learn!Competitive pay plan that pays on volume – the more you sell the more you earn!Opportunities to earn monthly and quarterly spiffs from the dealership and from the OEMYearly bonus opportunity based on overall store performance
