Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior 3D Artist who is passionate about pushing Unreal Engine to create realistic experiences in fantastic worlds. You are a visionary and creator that takes advantage of Maya and Unreal’s ever-growing toolset.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and/or modify high quality realistic 3D art assets that adhere to the game’s visual and creative direction.
  • Set up and maintain materials for characters, creatures and environments for a consistent look and workflow.
  • Create or help lead the creation of concept art, storyboards and reference materials.
  • Work with the Producer to determine appropriate use of outsourced art resources, in consideration of the company’s internal team capacity and game budget.
  • Provide hands-on support to artist and engineers on asset performance and cross-platform optimization.
  • Play the game and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with the entire team to make sure we all hit our deliverables on time and at a high level of quality.
  • Participate in art asset reviews for quality and continuity to support the overall artistic vision.
  • Support the team in developing and maintaining standards (naming, file structure, best-practices, etc.)
  • Play the game regularly and provide feedback and suggestions to the team as both a gamer and a developer.

Requirements:

  • Must have shipped at least one successful AAA videogame or equivalent real-time media project in a leadership role.
  • Expert experience with Maya and Photoshop. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion for working with others both remotely and in person.
  • A strong sense of initiative to work and lead through a remote setting.

Pluses:

  • Hands on experience with the Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with Substance Painter, Quixel Megscans, and Marvelous Designer is an asset.
  • An understanding of Maya scripts and tools.
  • Strong illustration and storyboard abilities are an asset.
