Senior Manager, Credit Risk & Modelling

Mogo is looking for a Manager, Credit Risk Methodology & Models to play a pivotal role on the Risk team. We’re looking for someone who loves to think strategically, innovate and is passionate about joining a fast paced business.The base salary for this role is: $80,000-$115,000What you’ll do:Model Innovation: Design, develop, test, and document risk models, including credit and financial risk models, that enhance valuation and risk management capabilitiesPortfolio Management: Monitor and maintain existing lending portfolio within expected company risk tolerance. Risk Strategy: Drive relevant adjustments to credit risk strategy based off model outcomes and learningsEconomic Insights: Develop and test economic risk measures, leveraging analytics to generate valuable insights for informed risk strategies and financial forecastingUnderstands key components of IFRS9 models such as PD, LGD, EAD and macroeconomic factors. Credit Risk Model Validation: Plan, execute and report model validations; assess the quality of model data, and monitor the model performance; develop validation strategies and testing proceduresEffective Communication: Prepare executive-level materials to convey technical concepts effectively.Validation and Monitoring: Collaborate with internal and external business stakeholders to align on credit risk performance, and stay attuned to external developments affecting the risk and financial profile.Strategic Insights: Develop a deep understanding of internal strategies to measure and forecast financial risks, identifying opportunities for enhancement.What You'll Need:A university degree (or higher) in a quantitative fieldRelevant professional qualifications (e.g., Actuarial, CFA, FRM) are advantageousA minimum of five years of experience in quantitative financial risk model developmentDeep understanding of risk management principles and practicesKnowledge or experience of credit risk models and methodologies: measurement methodologies (Risk Rating, PD, LGD and EAD), performance assessments and monitoring, model lifecycle and roles and responsibilitiesAdvanced programming skills in Python, SQLExcellent interpersonal and communication abilitiesProactiveness, adaptability, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrentlyLeadership skills to manage projects efficientlyThe ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
