Kelly is currently recruiting! Our client, a global leader in enabling pharma, biotechnology, and consumer health partners located in Strathroy, is seeking to hire a full-time  Purchasing Officer  for a  6–7-month contract . Responsibilities: Review and analyze daily MRP data for raw material and/or packaging component requirements, managing purchase cost, production planning and inventory value considerations. Issuance, maintenance and follow up of purchase orders and MRP item master input and maintenance. Proactive development of competitive sourcing opportunities in all areas of assigned responsibilities (materials, equipment, supplies etc). Contribute to the strategic development of supply base management and company initiatives as required. Reactively respond to fluctuations/dynamics from both external and internal material demands and availabilities. Perform other duties as required Qualifications/Skills Required: 2-3 years’ experience in purchasing within a  manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility is required Experience purchasing in Canada and US is required Post-secondary degree/diploma in Supply Chain or Procurement Experience with using ERP/MRP database systems Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with MS Office Highly motivated, results oriented and driven Able to work efficiently in tight deadlines Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm steady demeanour Additional Information: A background check is required Must have own transportation as location is not accessible by public transit Perks: Pay rate $30.00/hour + 4% vacation pay Weekly pay via direct deposit Why Kelly®?
