April 25, 2024SENIOR RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT (BAND LEVEL 12)(Senior Consultant)Department of Human Resources(3 Year Contractual Position)The University will consider applications from qualified permanent staff who may be interested in a secondment, subject to departmental approvalDUTIESThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional to support the recruitment and hiring of our university’s leaders. Reporting to the Manager, Senior Leadership Recruitment, the Senior Recruitment Consultant will provide expertise and support to the university’s search committees for executive, senior management, and academic leadership roles. This will include identifying strategies to source and develop connections with high potential candidates nationally and beyond. With a candidate centric approach, you will facilitate directly or indirectly in all aspects of the hiring process including sourcing, interviewing, background checks, and supporting on-boarding processes to ensure a successful transition.Specific duties include: Assist in the assessment and implementation of new sourcing methods, technology, tools, and strategies; research and identify new and innovative communication channels to reach potential candidates and ensuring these channels are inclusive and represent principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Anti-Racism (EDI-AR); assist in the research and development of best practices in talent acquisition and develop efficient and effective processes to support a university recruitment framework; be a trusted partner and advisor to selection committee chairs to facilitate the recruiting process from start to finish; collaborate with members of the university community to draft comprehensive position profiles and job advertisements for review by the Search Committee; oversee the job posting process; liaise with EDI-AR Advisory Committee for academic searches; assess candidates, centering principles of EDI-AR to ensure a qualification match and compatibility; ensure a positive candidate experience; oversee the candidate’s on-site visits, including management of complex itineraries involving several stakeholder groups identified for consultation; conduct relevant background checks; prepare employment offers and contracts; follow up with clients and assist with the candidate’s transition, relocation, and onboarding process; and perform other related duties as required.QUALIFICATIONSAs the ideal candidate, you bring significant experience as a HR professional with an enthusiasm and passion for recruitment supplemented by a graduate degree in business or a related area. You have an innate ability to understand people and their fit within an organization and its culture. You excel in a client-service environment and thrive on helping organizations succeed. You are a natural relationship builder with proven skills in consensus, facilitation, and communication that encourages a climate of openness, transparency, and trust. You will have experience managing or supporting senior management selection committees with experience supporting academic searches considered an asset. You are comfortable using online databases and social media with experience in using a variety of communications channels to develop candidate pools.
