Title: Early Childhood Educator, FloatLocations: Albion, Donna Gabriel, Robbins, Surrey City HallTerms: Full-time Permanent at 35-40 hours/weekShift: Monday to Friday, shifts varying between 7:00am and 6:00pmSalary: $23.20 per hour for ECE License. Plus an additional $6 per hour for Licensed ECE’s as per the Provincial Government’s Wage Enhancement InitiativeStart Date: As soon as possibleReports To: Team Leader, Child CareThis posting is governed by the Collective Agreement between the YMCA Child Care Centers and BCGEU Local 303. Nature & Scope:We are seeking a caring and creative Early Childhood Educator to provide a safe and engaging experience for all children at the YMCA. Following the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, the educator plans and leads activities based on the interests and the developmental level of the children in our care. Major Responsibilities: Provide quality care and creative programming to children Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and familiesDeliver high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculumProvide active supervision at all times and work as a team to support transitions between play areasUse our parent communication app (Weemarkable) to provide daily communication and updatesKeep a clean and safe environment – in all program areas and common spaces (with enhanced cleaning protocols for COVID-19)Follow all YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing (CCFL) and legal requirements, including YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum standardsQualifications/Experience:Basic ECE certification from a program recognized in British Columbia Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) License is an assetSpecial Needs Educator (SNE) is an assetGood verbal and written communication skillsAny training related to child growth and development is an assetEmergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained with in 30 days after start date)3 professional reference checks to be completedSuccessful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start dateAbout YMCA Childcares:YMCA BC is the largest provider of licensed childcare in Western Canada, with over thirty Early Years locations across the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and Sunshine Coast.
