We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Facilities Services to join our team.Supervisor, Facilities Services responsible for supervising, organizing, and directing Facilities Services activities and initiatives, including branch and regional office maintenance and non-capital projects. Actively participates or leads problem solving efforts and drives corrective and/or preventative actions to resolve issues. Assigns work orders, balances workload, and conducts performance reviews for assigned staff. Responsible for effective, efficient, and responsive services as it relates to a variety of programs including WorkSafe BC and BC Building Code compliance, property maintenance, physical security of all facilities, maintain capital assets, fleet vehicle co-ordination and other related services. Also responsible for coordinating soft projects (non-capital) throughout the region, including management of vendors, consultants, contractors as needed.Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day Leadership: Provides leadership and guidance to facilities services staff; applies performance management, establishes performance measurements and objectives; provides ongoing constructive feedback and conducts regular performance reviews; promotes strong individual and team performance and actively supports employee learning and development. Assists the Manager as required relating to the day-to-day operation of facilities; provides after-hour backup and responds to emergency requests for assistance. May supervise facilities administrators in certain regions. Maintenance and Security: Acts as day-to-day point of contact for branch/regional office teams for all Facilities related issues. Directs and deploys maintenance resources for property maintenance work orders to ensure timely resolution of requests. Coordinates use of outside services and contractors, as required. Maintains close coordination and open communication with other departments/functions to ensure resolution of problems, issues, and challenges. Responsible for the physical security of all Facilities in the region including alarms, cameras, guards, card access system, keys, locks, vaults, safety deposit boxes and other related equipment. Projects: Participates in and leads soft (non-capital) projects specific to property, furniture, equipment replacement/upgrades, and other areas as assigned. Coordinates the repair or replacement of loss or damaged assets with suppliers and contractors. Identifies, tracks and schedules replacement of capital assets throughout the region ensuring databases and charge-back structures are maintained. Budgets: Assists with the development of annual operational budgets; monitors expenses on an ongoing basis to ensure expenses are kept to the minimum. Business Continuity: Assists the Manager as an active member of the Business Continuity Team and ensures all members of the Facilities Services team are aware of their roles and expectations during major business disruptions and/or events. Acts as point of contact for all after-hours emergencies Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications College, Trade or Tech School Diploma (2 years) required Certified Facilities Management Designation OR Construction Management and/or Facilities Management Courses preferred 3 years related experience required Progressive supervisory and leadership experience in Facilities Services preferred Experience in property restoration, insurance claims and emergency management preferred Proven ability to motivate others, work well and implement change in a team environment. Proven effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both verbal and in writing with a wide variety of people. Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task Demonstrated knowledge of construction and maintenance trades, municipal bylaws, WorkSafe BC and BC Building Code regulations. Proficient knowledge of accounting and contract negotiations Required to maintain a valid Level Two First Aid Certificate Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures. Pay TransparencySalary Range: $55,200 - $70,700Please note, the salary range mentioned in this job posting should serve as a guide. The final compensation offered may vary based on a variety of factors including bonuses and/or incentives, or a candidate’s skills and experience.
