Job Purpose

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the sheet metal equipment operator will support the manufacturing of GPT Products.

Job Duties

  • Learn to set up, operate, and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines
  • Operate rollers, dimplers, deburring equipment, vertical bandsaw, 4 post press
  • Operate CNC Punch/ Laser/ Press Brake/shear/Tool sharpener
  • Clean and deburr parts
  • Operate a forklift when required
  • Computer dimensions and tolerances and measure and layout work pieces
  • Verify dimensions of parts made for accuracy and conformance to specifications
  • Participate, suggest, and look for ways to contribute to continuous improvement activities
  • Have a proactive attitude towards health and safety, follow all company policies/procedures to ensure safe operations of all duties
  • Assist other departments as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience using CNC sheet metal equipment an asset
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, charts, and tables
  • Show an attention to detail, a respect for processes and instructions, and have a results-oriented mindset.
  • Working in a team environment
  • Willing and the ability to learn
  • Computer use
  • Strong commitment to working in a safe manner
  • Must have reliable transportation to Bassano facility
  • Willingness to alter shift times as required by production demands
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
