Research & Development Technician

The manufacturing facilities are geographically dispersed, with two facilities in Canada and one each in Colorado, Texas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and North Carolina. The Original Cakerie is seeking a Full-Time Research and Development Technician to join our R&D department. This is a 12-18 Months maternity Leave Contract. Responsibilities & Duties Manages the packaging of all sales and marketing samples shipping out of the facility Works closely with warehouse manager to create shipping documentation Accountability over the raw material inventory of the test kitchen Ensure that the R&D team have the materials and tools to efficiently do their job.  Assistance in the organization and review of new ingredients Taking pictures of outgoing samples or products being tested in the kitchen Organization of the fridges, freezers and dry storage Washing dishes and general organization / cleaning of the test kitchen and all storage areas Pulling samples from the freezer for review / sign off Pulling raw materials / components from the production floor and warehouse Packaging / labeling / entering samples Working closely with the warehouse to receive any R&D ingredients, labelling, and storage Setting up any new raw materials for sensory review Organizing any competitive product reviews, including documentation and graphics Any other key tasks as assigned Position Requirements: Back of House Kitchen experience preferred Experience in R&D an asset but not required Quick learner with proven interest in R&D Able to maintain high level of confidentiality Basic computer skills (MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel) What’s great about working at Dessert Holdings: We offer a competitive salary.
