About the role Canadian Blood Services is looking for Regular Full-time Analyst - Business Systems III to join our dynamic IT External Customer Experience team. The IT External Customer Experience team is responsible for day to day software application support and planning. This includes researching, analyzing, defining, recommending, developing/configuring, testing, implementing and supporting IT Business Solutions for Canadian Blood Services in collaboration with client groups and in accordance with regulatory requirements. In this role, you will facilitate, coordinate, and work with team members to collaborate with business stakeholders and delivery teams, to deliver value towards current business problems. You will be responsible for identifying and completing complex tasks as part of an overall project or initiative. These tasks include, but are not limited to, requirements (use cases, user stories, epics) gathering/analysis, iteration/project planning, iteration/project/release coordination, test case creation/execution, and problem management coordination/trending for existing business systems. The role also involves coordinating between other IT departments to complete infrastructure and other enabling services for new and existing business systems. Formula for success Leveraging your skills and experience, you will assess stakeholder requirements, determining practical solutions and plan system development. Utilizing your excellent collaboration skills, you will collaborate with Business Stakeholders during the project/product lifecycle to ensure a successful delivery. Drawing on your track record of successfully leading collaborative teams, you will lead the coordination of development and research of various process, quality and project standards, process efficiency, team practices and industry developments and you will lead business system development and enhancement activities. Drawing upon effective communication methods, you will maintain open communication with developers and testers. Utilizing your relationship-building capabilities, you will build strong relationships, developing IT strategic and tactical plans or business value streams. Harnessing your adeptness for following policies and procedures, you will understand and comply with Canadian Blood Services Information Technology and regulatory standards. Desired education and skills Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Business, Computer Science or Computer/Software Engineering. Minimum 7 years' experience of IT related experience in business systems analysis, product management, product ownership, project management, scrum mastery, software development, systems analysis, or test execution. Experience in client business processes (e.g., Finance, Health Care, HR, Regulatory) with an aptitude for system design. Experience with tools such as Confluence, Jira and SharePoint. Exemplar documentation skills (e.g., use cases, user stories, business requirements, functional specifications, project plans, training and user guides). Ability to articulate requirements to IT subject matter experts, developers, and testers. Exceptional problem analysis, planning, time management and organizational skills and strong project management skills for implementing large scale initiatives (scope, complexity, budget). What you can expect This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week. You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day. If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel to our office location in Ottawa – 2540 Lancaster Rd, quarterly for in-person team meetings when required.
