The Opportunity

HUB International is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our well-respected HR team. We want someone who thrives being in a client centric role and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be exposed to a variety of HR initiatives and projects and champion efficient and effective processes. We work as a team to get things done!

The Responsibilities

Annual Cycles

Support the delivery of various annual HR cycles such as merit review, performance reviews, goal setting, bonus administration, etc.

Maintain HR calendar of annual events and ensure timelines are met

Employee Life Cycle : Coordinate, and process employee events such as : Transfer, Promotion, Change in hours/work schedule, conclusion packages, Compensation changes, Disability/LOA’s

Oversee employee offboarding including conducting employee exit interviews

Administer the Leave Management process, including : Facilitating the STD process and tracking

Educating employees on STD process and forms (Assist when needed)

Complete and send the employer statement form to Canada Life

Ensure Workday records are up to date

Partner with Canada Life, managers, employee and HRBP on the coordination of GRTW’s

HR Administration and Support

Advise and educate employees regarding company programs, benefits and policies; Ensure that all Human Resource forms, policies, manuals etc. are up-to-date

Lead company-wide HR initiatives such as : Service Awards, Employee of the Year, Rising Star, Employee Appreciation Day, etc.

Oversee the HR mailbox and respond to inquiries

Enhance and maintain the HR SharePoint page

Act as back up for payroll audit and processing

Act as backup for HRBPs as required

Data and Reporting

Compile and analyze reporting requests using Excel, Workday, Survey Monkey and/or PowerBI

Health, Wellness & Engagement : Understand and champion : Diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives.

Wellness Initiatives.

Employee engagement initiatives.

Benefits : Liaise with HUB’s corporate Canadian benefits team to administer benefit changes and annual open enrollment process

Facilitate and approve Workday benefit changes

Answer general employee benefit inquiries

Actively participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee

HR Projects

Work with the Vice President, Human Resources and other team members on ad hoc HR projects

Collaborate with the Corporate and Super Region HUB HR teams on special projects as necessary

Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

The Requirements

2+ years of HR experience

Knowledge of HR best practices and regulations, including BC Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Legislation

Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Insurance industry experience/knowledge is an asset

Ability and flexibility to travel to various offices and locations within the lower mainland

A reliable team-player

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple priorities

Exceptional attention to detail and well organized

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Asset experience that will make you stand out : Previous experience with Workday.

Experienced administration professional with a passion for getting things done as efficiently as possible.
