Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Concrete Formwork Estimator with expertise in High-Rise, Parkades, Vertical Structures, Buildings and Architectural Construction to enhance our team. As the Concrete and Formwork Estimator, your primary task will involve accurately assessing material costs and quantities required for these specialized projects. You will collaborate closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful estimate completion.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and support the development of project-specific execution plans (including schedule, sequencing, formwork selection, pour breaks, crew sizes, equipment, site logistics, etc.).
• Evaluate project plans, drawings, and specifications for parking structures, high- rise buildings, and formwork projects.
• Calculate materials such as concrete, rebar, formwork systems, and necessary accessories for these specialized projects.
• Estimate labor costs, equipment expenses, and other project-related costs specific to parking structures, high-rise buildings, and formwork construction.
• Gather quotes from specialized suppliers and subcontractors for required materials and services.
• Conduct detailed manpower analyses to determine productivity rates, crew sizes, crew composition, etc.
• Calculate material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, productivity rates, equipment rental costs, placing rates, etc.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and proposals tailored to the unique needs of parking structures, high-rise buildings, and formwork projects.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to gather project-specific details for precise estimates.
• Maintain and update a cost database with specialized pricing information for future reference.
• Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure estimations align with the specific requirements of parking structures, high-rise buildings, and formwork projects.
• Provide expertise on value engineering and identify opportunities for cost savings related to these specialized projects.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material prices, and construction techniques associated with parking structures, high-rise buildings, and formwork construction to enhance estimating accuracy.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of overall construction experience in high-rise projects with a General Contractor, specializing in Concrete & Formwork (Form, Place, and Finish including Supply), and 5-10 years of experience in estimating.
• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing is required.
• Familiarity with formwork systems, formwork sequencing, placing equipment, access equipment, productivity rates, crew compositions, labor rates, and union agreements.
• Understanding of various contract delivery models, including risk analysis.
• Ability to perform mathematical extensions, interpret engineering drawings, sub-quotes, supplier quotes, etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain relationships, effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in time-sensitive situations within a team.
• A degree or diploma in a construction-related field.
• Proficiency with B2W, Excel, OST, Bluebeam, and other relevant software is an asset.
