JOB PURPOSE:Reporting to the Global Deployment Manager, the Deployment Specialist uses project management methodology daily to help deliver multiple complex projects on time and within budget. This role is responsible for developing tactical project plans and helping maintain project documentation while ensuring the delivery of projects within defined product suites. Additionally, they will proactively engage other groups in Global Technology and the business to ensure appropriate visibility into the delivery of projects. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively utilizes interpersonal skills to develop IT requirements from business requirements to ensure effective delivery of projects. Develops tactical implementation plans, maintains project plan documentation and helps to develop standard templates for project documentation. Coordinates the implementation of the infrastructure, security, and application elements of the project plan. Builds and maintains relationships within Global Technology and digital functions and with vendors to deliver projects. The Deployment Specialist keeps abreast of the current McCain Information Technology standards and industry trends while educating themselves on industry best practices. Acts in an account management capacity with customers to ensure project alignment within the product suite they are responsible for delivering. Develops work packages for technical teams (internal and outsourced resources) to enable a well-coordinated implementation. Also oversees the delivery of required work packages and escalates issues to management when needed. Provides clear project status communication to key stakeholders, Project Managers, Resource Managers, Outsourced Managed Infrastructure providers and senior management. Ensures all project milestones and tasks are executed on time and within budget. Ensures consistent performance and process reviews with stakeholders, 3rd party providers, and McCain business units while looking for opportunities to improve quality on delivery and transition for projects. Act as a leader in the group and provide quality mentorship, support, and advice to junior-level resources. Engage external service providers that deliver the outsourced services to ensure maximum adherence to agreed metrics while aiming to improve service and staff performance, end-user satisfaction, and collaboration among service providers. Required to work on moderately complex tasks, projects, activities, or support issues that require increased skill in multiple technical, social, and service environments. MEASURES OF SUCCESS: Good foundational knowledge of several technology domains such as Microsoft Azure, VMware, Citrix, MS Server OS, MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, Office 365, Microsoft Intune, MS File Server, MS Hyper-V, MS IIS, Group Policy, Antivirus and Endpoint Security, Web Servers, SQL Database Servers, Storage Area Networks, LAN/WAN and IP Telephony, Unified Communications, SAP, Disaster Recovery, etc. Experience in defining standards, repeatable processes, and documentation to ensure consistent quality of project deliverables. Experience in defining internal SLAs with stakeholders and business units within the Global Technology function. Good interpersonal and communication skills with experience in knowledge exchange as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders/users. Proven interpersonal skills required to work in a dynamic team and deal with team members from all levels of the organization. Project leadership skills should be well developed. Highly organized with strong time management skills to enable them to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Bargaining and Negotiation Skills: when lining up project deadline dates that meet the needs of the business as well as all stakeholder groups involved with the project. Team building and relationship management: when working with one's own team as well as other stakeholder groups. Excellent communication skills are required when communicating project details between Global Technology and other groups. KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES: Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Total years of IT experience should be minimum of 10 years. Minimum of 5 years experience working with enterprise IT (server, storage, networking, IP Telephony, databases, applications, security, etc.), as well as similar experience with implementing major system projects. Base technical knowledge of a number of infrastructure, security, applications and systems. Practical knowledge of project management methodology. Strong ITSM process discipline experience, specifically with Incident, Change and Service Request Management.
