Airport Applications department is an integral part of the organization.  Position overview Reporting to the Manager, Technology Services, the Technical Analyst will be responsible for providing technical implementation and support services for current and future applications across several disciplines. Key responsibilities include:  Providing technical support for business applications, operating systems, system infrastructure, client-based technologies, and new system implementations and services. Administering and managing key mission-critical applications, ensuring system integrity, security, tuning, recovery procedures, and developing preventative maintenance plans. Managing day-to-day technology systems, including incident review, change management, vendor and relationship management, and business unit support. Evaluating, testing, deploying, and supporting specialized computer peripherals, desktop PC images, and overall operational efficiency of IT systems. Providing technical assistance and advice to end users, internal and external customers, and management, including answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and recommending improvements. Documenting interactions with end users, developing and promoting standards and procedures, and liaising with vendors to resolve application and integration issues. Assisting in system analysis, design, development, and testing activities Key qualifications include:  BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of training and experience, along with 5+ years of relevant work experience in Windows/Linux OS-based software applications. Experience supporting and implementing enterprise solutions in mission-critical environments Experience with systems involving web servers, databases, HA, and LB solutions Proficiency with SQL tools for querying Microsoft and Oracle databases, as well as MS Office and Visio Experience with cloud computing (Azure or AWS) considered an asset Experience within the airport industry and with related technologies considered an asset. Experience with CCTV and Genetec security center considered an asset. The selected candidate will be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation with other team members. An on-call allowance premium will be provided during these periods. This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. As part of our recruitment process, short-listed candidates may be required to participate in an assessment process. Salary Range : $87,926 to $114,912 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week.
