What You’ll Do

As a Manufacturing Manager, you will ensure that operations are safe, equipment is performing efficiently, production volume is met, and quality is assured. You will be responsible for aligning with the Manufacturing Excellence standard; identify and implement framework and strategy to reduce waste and improve quality, productivity and safety performance. Other duties include:

Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety (Safety Leadership)

Participate in all safety activities

Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations

Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values

Conduct risk assessments using appropriate tools

Report all hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately

Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis

Manage safety improvements for work area

Promote 5S principles in everything we do

Provide input for new programs, policies, guidelines and procedures

Monitor and react to financial and operational metrics

On-time delivery of products while meeting quality standards, and at the lowest possible cost.

Ensure alignment of activities and resources within the value stream, and ensure cross-organization collaboration and associate involvement where appropriate

Support new processes and product development

Champion Lean Manufacturing efforts within value streams to improve and meet yearly goals

Champions a reward and recognition process within work cell(s)/value stream(s) to foster participation, competitiveness, and a sense of ownership

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, business, or related discipline.

5+ years related technical experience.

3+ years’ experience in a leadership position or supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.

3+ experience in Supply Management within a manufacturing environment (Advantageous)

Complete understanding of Safety, Quality, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Capacity / Resource Planning, Continuous Improvement and all others activities that go into the production process.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop operational plans.

Knowledge of business finance linking financial outcomes with operations actions and strategy.

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement

Must be willing to undergo and pass a background check as required to be a possessor of explosives

As a Manufacturing Manager , your responsibilities encompass several critical areas:

  • Safety and Efficiency : You’ll ensure that operations are conducted safely, equipment operates efficiently, production targets are met, and quality standards are upheld. Safety leadership is a priority, and you’ll actively participate in safety activities.
  • Quality and Productivity : Aligning with Manufacturing Excellence standards, you’ll identify and implement frameworks and strategies to reduce waste, enhance quality, and improve productivity and safety performance.
  • Risk Assessment and Incident Management : Conducting risk assessments using the appropriate tool to identify, correct and report hazards, near misses, and incidents. Additionally, you’ll lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Operational Metrics and Financial Management : You’ll monitor financial and operational metrics, ensuring on-time product delivery while maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Aligning activities and resources within the value stream, you will foster collaboration across the organisation. Supporting new processes and product development is also part of your role.
  • Lean Manufacturing : Championing Lean Manufacturing efforts, you’ll drive continuous improvement within value streams, striving to meet yearly goals.
  • Reward and Recognition : You’ll establish a reward and recognition process within work cell(s)/value stream(s) to encourage participation, competitiveness, and a sense of ownership.

Qualifications We Seek :

  • Education : A Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience : You bring over 5 years of technical experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Supply Management : With 3+ years of experience in supply management within manufacturing, you understand the intricacies of resource planning and procurement.
  • Holistic Understanding : You possess a complete understanding of safety, quality, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), capacity/resource planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Thinking : Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop operational plans.
  • Financial Acumen : Knowledge of linking financial outcomes with operational actions and strategy.
  • Lean Six Sigma : Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Safety Compliance : Willingness to undergo and pass a background check, as required for handling explosives.
  • Positive Attitude : Your friendly demeanour and team-player mindset contribute to a positive work environment.
