The Materials Division of ParklandGEO is an energetic team of professionals and technicians that work closely together to achieve excellence. Our focus on delivering safe, quality solutions that meet our clients’ needs has resulted in continued growth and demand. Currently, ParklandGEO is looking for a seasonal materials technician for an approx. 10 month term.
The Opportunity
You will work closely with an impressive team of engineers and technologists performing monitoring and testing in the field and the lab under the direction of the technical services supervisor.
Responsibilities may include: Field and Laboratory testing of asphalt, concrete, soil, and aggregate
Construction QC/QA monitoring and testing
Foundation construction
Fill placement and compaction monitoring
Concrete monitoring and testing
Complete detailed field and laboratory reporting
Assist in resolving technical issues out on site
Qualifications
Past experience in construction setting considered an asset
Great attitude and work ethic
Valid Driver’s License with a good driving abstract
Ability to work with mínimal supervision and communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, and management team
Ability to work up to 12 hours a day - weekends and overtime will be required
Available to work out of town on projects
Team orientated with a commitment to safety excellence
Preference will be given to those with a CCIL certification, construction experience and safety tickets
