Our client is seeking a Superintendent to oversee paving and preparation crews, ensuring projects are executed successfully from inception to completion. The Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and adherence to project timelines. This individual will lead and coordinate activities, manage resources, and foster a culture of excellence and collaboration within the teams. Regular travel to and from job sites will be required to supervise both preparation and paving crews. Advantages • Hourly pay rate starts at $40/hour, potentially increasing to around $60/hour • 4% vacation pay is provided and retained • Bonuses based on performance are offered but not guaranteed • Benefits include a company vehicle, phone plan, and $1500 annual medical expense allowance reimbursed upon proof of payment Responsibilities • Collaborate with estimators to understand project requirements, timelines, and resources • Support morning tasks to ensure timely crew departures • Supervise paving and preparation crews, providing direction, coaching, and support • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and OH regulations • Foster teamwork, professionalism, and accountability • Inspect work sites regularly to ensure quality standards • Implement corrective actions for any quality issues • Monitor material usage and application techniques • Manage equipment, materials, and resources to maximize productivity • Maintain accurate records of resource usage and project progress • Coordinate with equipment operators and communicate maintenance issues • Provide project updates and report potential issues to Estimators/Dispatch • Collaborate with Estimators to identify opportunities for additional services Qualifications Minimum of 3 years' experience in asphalt paving or a related field with proven leadership skills • Skilled in reading project plans, specifications, and blueprints • Extensive knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment • Strong communication and team leadership abilities • Well-versed in safety regulations and construction industry best practices • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Preferred • Certification or training in construction management or a related field • Understanding of grades and asphalt paving • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions • Capable of lifting heavy objects and performing physical tasks related to paving as needed Summary If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you - please apply here today and one of our Staffing Consultants will be in touch.
