About The Position This is a temporary, full time support staff position replacing a bargaining unit employee. This position will start in May 2024 and end in August 2025; working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $30.00, reporting to the Manager, Employment Services. Under the supervision of the Manager or designate, the incumbent assesses the client's suitability and eligibility for assisted or unassisted services. For those who are most suitable for unassisted services the incumbent provides information regarding local training and employment opportunities, community service supports, occupational and training requirements and resources to support independent or "unassisted" job search, career clarification and planning, and informed education, training and employment decisions. The incumbent will support clients and provide customer service to clients in the resource centre on a daily basis. For those who are most suitable for assisted services, the incumbent refers the client to an employment consultant for ongoing service coordination and case management. The incumbent will also be responsible for program promotion and marketing, including posting regularly on social media accounts. The incumbent is responsible for all client tracking and data collection for the Resource and Information component of the Employment Services program. Incumbent may be required to work one evening per week as part of their 35 hours/wk. The position is located at the Community Employment Services site in Petrolia. Specific Accountabilities - Pre-screens clients to confirm Employment Ontario program eligibility and schedules intake appointments - Updates and maintains all employment related resources (i.e. print materials, calendars, software, website etc) and ensures Employment Ontario and Windsor Regional Employment Network materials are always available. - Assist with computer usage and access to internet based services i.e. email, online self-assessment and career counselling tools, job search database and websites - Follow ups with clients who have started employment and offers follow up resources or services as needed - Post jobs for employers via online job boards and ensures job boards are maintained/updated - Provide customer service to employers for HR needs and inquiries - Distributes agendas and takes minutes for team meetings - Conducts resource room client and employer customer service surveys - Assists with other administrative tasks as required - Provides information on resources/services available through Community Employment Services and the community to support the client’s effort to find employment - Provides labour market information (local, provincial and national level, i.e. emerging trends and declines) - Keeps resource center up to date on employment postings Qualifications - A minimum 2 year diploma in Office Admin or Business (other 2-year diploma accepted with strong computer skills) - A minimum of 2 years experience in a customer service/advising field (resource room environment preferred) - High level of computer proficiency using a variety of programs Lambton College is committed to an inclusive, barrier-free selection process.
