Reporting to the Partner, this position will play a vital role in assisting our valued clients and/or their businesses with their financial goals and objectives. By taking a proactive, distinct, and personal approach as a trusted advisor you will oversee our clients’ financial resources while skillfully tailoring sound, long-term financial plans. You will focus on building robust long-lasting relationships and foster strategic partnerships with the Baker Tilly partners, clients, businesses, and through your own networking. As a leader in our growing firm, you will report to the Partner. You will be responsible to: Meet and develop relationships with clients to understand their situation Offer support and provide ongoing financial guidance, to help them achieve their retirement goals Create strategic financial plans and budgets for clients Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them Monitor clients’ need and adjust their financial plans accordingly Prepare detailed financial reports for clients Provides financial analysis as part of preparing a comprehensive financial plan for clients, including cash-flow, retirement, estate planning, education funding, risk management, retirement projections and investment management Work collaboratively with Firm partners and staff in providing advice to clients Coordinate with our Portfolio Manager partners to ensure the client portfolios are managed in line with the client tax plan Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships Delivering to the highest service standards Managing multiple client requests efficiently and in a timely manner Identify and cultivate new clients to develop and grow a book of business Review and identify any opportunities to improve client and company outcomes through the financial planning process Maintain updated knowledge of regulations, practices, and financial products Who is our ideal candidate? Active Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation Active life insurance license (preferred) or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance/Commerce, Economics or Statistics; master’s degree, CPA, or diploma in financial planning a plus Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Financial Planner or Financial Consultant Ability to analyze complex financial information and make recommendations Previous experience with CaseWare, Taxprep, developing financial plans utilizing Conquest (or similar) is an asset Flexibility to support an entrepreneurial business model focused on growth Experience with paraplanning and working in the investments and insurance industry Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and establish strong relationships with our clients, internal and external partners, suppliers, and members of the BT KDN team Exceptional written and oral communication skills Ability to consistently meet deadlines, which can be conflicting with one another Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail A desire to be an integral part of a fun team environment About Baker Tilly KDN Baker Tilly KDN LLP (BT KDN) is a full-service accounting firm providing assurance, tax and related business advisory services to a broad range of clientele from our offices in Peterborough, Lindsay, Courtice and Cobourg.
