Term: Permanent Full-time position

 

Wage:

- $31.25 per hour

- Employees shall receive overtime pay at the rate of 1½ times their regular rate for all hours worked in excess of forty-four (44) hours in a week. 

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Follows all safety rules, guidelines and uses appropriate PPE. Raises potential safety hazards to others as well as the equipment.
  • Identify short term and long-term countermeasures for production problems that arise specifically related to tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings to fabricate new and repair existing tooling.

· Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools and make program as per part specifications.

  • Design tools in solid-works and produce 2D drawings.
  • Make Prototype Fixtures/Die to produce parts in high volume.
  • Identify flaws, misconnection and rough cavity in the finished product or operation of tooling and take corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems that are commonly integrated within machine tools.
  • Operate cranes to safely move and turn dies for preventative maintenance, repair, or operational needs.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, fixtures, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
  • Perform hand finishing, grinding, and polishing.
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications of tools, dies, and hydraulics schematics.
  • Operate a variety of machine tools to cut, turn, mill, plane, bore, grind, and shape the piece being worked on to a very specific dimension.
  • Perform basic administrative skills including computer data entry and documentation of work performed by written and electronic methods.

· Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

  • Participate in and provide On the Job Training with / to other maintenance Team Members
  • Maintains inventory of spare parts.
  • Attends daily Start of Shift and End of Shift meetings for proper handover of shifts.
  • Assists with 8-Step problem solving activities.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of FIO’s Environmental Policy and participate in programs that enhance environmental performance. Identifies and communicates any potential non-conformances.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the EPRP (Emergency Preparedness Response Plan).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently with minimum supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

  • Secondary school completion is preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ experience is required.
  • Be eligible for Ontario Certificate of qualification.
